Long Component Capability

Our new factory and 13m long vacuum table allow us to develop or produce large-scale composite parts and tools.

Again our experience and capability allow us to understand our customer requirements and produce tools and components for trials or prototyping rapidly.

Testing and Trials

We can carry out strain gauge installation and provide material laboratory standard test pieces for the major wind turbine manufacturers. We also have the ability to produce and test materials and processes. We also can provide detailed reports on individual projects as part of our quality system.

Composite Component Production

This was a high-quality piece of tooling to close tolerances that needed to be capable of producing many parts without variation. Novel use of magnets for edge bars and tooling add-ons were also used in this work.

Consumable Kitting

We have helped Vestas to rapidly roll out their huge V164 turbine to production, by offering clever kitting of composite and consumable solutions. We can offer small batch kitting, with the flexibility to incorporate modification when required.

GE Blades

For the huge multinational that now owns LM blades, we helped develop a new recyclable resin system to make their blades even greener!

Act Blades

A revolutionary way to make and revive blades with sailcloth. We made a large checking fixture to verify their design path for the close tolerance structural parts.

Racing Boats

We have always had a close relationship with racing boats, having produced many race-winning boats in the past, and living in Cowes! We continue to design and construct parts for the racing world.

Global Homes

This was a step out of the ordinary for us. We were approached by the design team Medtec who wanted us to make mock-up tooling for their new Global home project. This idea was to redesign how modern apartments were designed and manufactured. These radical new shapes would provide a new style of living space for modern apartment dwellers. Walls would be moveable and there would be a central hub area for a library or games room. We developed these new and complex forms using new methods of forming MDF.

LM Blades

LM Blades, which is now owned by GE, gave us a project to develop their thermoplastic infusion resin in a large-scale part. This had not been successfully done before, but we achieved it. We made 13m long leading edge and flat panels for them and continue to make checking and trial fixtures for them.

Wight Shipyard

We have had a long relationship with boatbuilding dating back 30 years with Hunter Yachts building highly successful one-design race yachts. This relationship has continued through working with Wight Shipyard over the years. We have helped maintain composite parts on the Redjets and produced components for many of the company's designs.

Diamond Isle Boards

A new Hunter project! One of the directors is mad on watersports and has become a wingfoiler. This involves using a board with a hydrofoil attached to it, powered by a handheld inflatable wing. From this, the brand 'Diamond Isle Boards ' was born. Making cutting-edge wingfoiling boards for the public to enjoy. These are manufactured by shaping the foam on our CNC machine and then laminating it with carbon fibre. The first board has very recently been made and tested by Rob and passed it first flight trail. The development will refine the perfect balanced board for many conditions. More and more prototypes are currently under construction.

Structeam

This design team relies on our knowledge and experience to realise their customer requirements. We have recently produced tooling plugs, moulds and components. We have also produced many prototype test pieces for this company.
